“The NSW government has stopped the installation of unflued gas heaters in public schools as it considers the results of an independent report it commissioned into the effect of the heaters on the health of tens of thousands of school children. The report remains secret but is understood to undermine government claims that there is no link between the heaters and respiratory problems caused by nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide and formaldehyde fumes”.
