Lee has been a high profile activist, researcher and commentator on toxics issues throughout Australia for 25 years. .
Lee specializes in contaminated sites, persistent organic pollutants (POPs), industrial emissions and hazardous waste consultation. He holds a Masters degree in Ecologically Sustainable Development and has lectured at Murdoch and Curtin University in Ecology and Human Health and waste related issues.
Lee has been at the forefront of coordinating and advising WA toxics activist groups such as the Bellevue Action Group, The Contaminated Sites Alliance and the Alliance for a Clean Environment. He is also an environmental representative on state and federal committees on toxics governance including the Stockholm (Convention) Reference Group and the Hazardous Waste Act Policy Reference Group.
Lee recently published a major UN-commissioned report on the international trade in products containing lead, cadmium and mercury and has also published papers on environmental justice.
